For the French company SDGL, Patron has built a sustainable greenhouse with a unique, flexible cooling system. The greenhouse features a so-called climate corridor that is 1.4 meters wide, equipped with padwall sections of 80, 160, and 320 cm widths to provide 15%, 40%, or 100% cooling with BUS-controlled pad wall fans. By varying the sizes of the pad walls, a total of 7 combinations are possible to accommodate different cooling loads. Heating is provided via spiral heating elements that are fed with hot water from the adjacent bioenergy plant and external solar boilers. For the completion of this project, Patron had to comply with the strict requirements of the French inspection authority and energy supplier, EDF, which pertain to, among other things, cabling and surge protection.
